Fall Is Coming, and So Are My Unfinished Projects

As summer winds down, I’m looking forward to cooler weather and plenty of time for fiber arts. The heat has kept me away from a few projects, and I’m excited to finally get back to them.

A bear paw quilt for my husband

First on my list is the quilt I started for my husband back in the spring. It’s a bear paw block quilt, and I decided to free motion quilt across the top. Free motion quilting is exhausting, and spending hours with a heavy quilt in my lap is not my idea of summer fun. Now that cooler days are on the horizon, I’m ready to take on the challenge and finish it.

A Christmas sweater for my son

Of course, I can’t stop at one project. I’ve also cast on my son’s Christmas present. It’s been a few years since I knit him a sweater, so it’s about time he got a new one.

A gift, and maybe a pattern

Finally, I’ve started a third project, another Christmas gift. It’s a quick knit, and if I like how it turns out, I’m going to write up the pattern for it. Stay tuned!

What’s on your needles or under your machine this fall? Tell me in the comments. I’d love to hear what you’re finishing up before the holidays.
